CJSC “Eurocar” Print

The history of the CJSC Eurocar began in June 2001, when in the village Solomonove, Zakarpatska oblast they laid down the basement of a motor-car.

This is a European-quality plant equipped with the up-to-date production machinery, which is in line with all the standards of the Volkswagen Group. The choice of the location was preconditioned by the advantageous geographical position: this territory borders on Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania, which furthers supplying equipment and spare parts for the plant “Eurocar”. There are two railroads (European and Ukrainian) laid down up to the enterprise, which optimizes logistical processes.

At the end of 2001 the plant was set into production, and in the April of 2002 the “Eurocar” started the first series of SKD production the Skoda cars. In 2003 the quality management system of the produce was certified with the ISO 9001:2000 standards. Today the plant produces these car brands: Skoda, Volkswagen and Seat.

The major event in the operation of the enterprise took place in the May of 2006 – the official opening of a new “Eurocar” plant, a second line of the large-scale project on the Volkswagen cars production. Minor junction MKD production is done on the standard line with a technological process analogous to the main plant Skoda Auto a. s. The new production capacities have a number of technical innovations, which provide for maximum production process flexibility, a prospective widening of the production capacities to 120 000 cars per year. The first model produced on the capacities of the MKD production line became Skoda Octavia Tour. By the end of 2006 they had produced 3 305 such cars.

In the August of 2006 “Eurocar” plant adjusted production of one more car brand - Seat. Today the enterprise produces the Leon, Altea and Toledo models.

In the October of 2006 CJSC “Eurocar” confirmed the high quality management standard for a second time, having passed audit and the ISO 9001:2000 certificate. This event testified the company’s achievements in the organization of production processes and the high quality of the output.

At the end of 2006 CJSC “Eurocar” received a syndicated credit of EUR 22,5 mln. The participants of the credit syndicate became: HVB Munich (Bayerische Hypo und Vereinsbank AG, Germany), DEG (Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungesellschaft mbH, Germany), HVB Ukraine. The drawn sum was directed at financing and refinancing the expenses of construction, purchase of new equipment, creation of infrustructure, and also financing the circulating assets. The credit was given for a 7 year term.

After the assembly a car passes through the control stages, where the factorial regulation of all the parameters is fulfilled: geometry of wheel mounting, testing of brake systems ABS, ASR, ESP, and also the diagnostics of the engine and all the data units and devices in motion. After these procedures the car goes through a number of tests at the quality points: 1 Testing at the proving ground more than 1 000 m. long. The proving ground has a diverse road covering, amongst, parts imitating wet and winter roads. 2 Water testing – testing for the water proof of a car.

3 Test of the laque and paint covering. Effort measurement for opening of the doors, windows, lids of the boot and bonnet.

Since the very foundation the “Eurocar” plant realizes the strategy of yearly increase of the output and widens the model line. In 2002 the enterprise began its activity from the Skoda Fabia and the Skoda Octavia Tour, and by the end of 2007 there had been 14 car models. The “Eurocar” plant has the repute of an enterprise that increases the production output most dynamically in the Ukrainian automotive industry.
